Literature Text

When without words, I look on you
When without words, I try to speak
Do as in my place, you'd have me do
Look not with scorn, when soft salt-tides leak
From eyes that are blind to naught but their lot
Look not with anger, on I who knows not.

When without words, I call on you
When without words, I wake in the night
Comfort me, as one once did for you
Even when sleepless you see dawn's first light
Place me back gently to rest in my cot
Look not with anger on I who knows not.

When without words, I cling to you
When without words, I cry for my needs
Uncurl my fingers, or leave just a few
Hold to my hands, and come at my leave
I'm the most magical thing that you've got
Look never with anger, on I who knows not.
Something I wrote in school, about child neglect. Found a copy whilst looking through some old work today.
